Divers searching for drowning victim in MS River

Baton Rouge Police and divers are currently searching for a drowning victim in the Mississippi River.

The call came around around 12:30pm for a man who started struggling in the water after he was swimming in the river. As of now, sources tell Unfiltered with Kiran it may be a homeless man who went for a swim in the river, but then started treading water.

At this point, officials believe the man may no longer be alive turning the search and rescue mission into a search and recovery now.

Dive team crews are now in the water hoping to find him near the site where he was swimming.

Crews initially responded to North Blvd. where it hits River Rd. for the drowning.

Drivers may want to take an alternate route and avoid River Rd.

As soon as more details are available, the story will be updated.
