DONALDSONVILLE — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 21-yr-old man from Gonzales in connection to a deadly double shooting in Donaldsonville.
Malik Fowler, 21, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. near Clay St. and Lee St., which is off the Donaldsonville High School property, but near Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium. The Tigers were playing Patterson High School for Homecoming. The game was reportedly in the beginning of the third quarter when it was halted due to the gunfire.
Upon arrival, deputies found two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. At least one person was AirMed to an area hospital, while an ambulance took the second person. While at the hospital, 21-yr-old Tyree Parker, of Donaldsonville, died from his injuries. The second victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
While at the shooting. scene, deputies saw a man, who they believed to be the shooter, attempting to run from the scene. The man was identified as Malik Fowler and taken into custody for questioning. APSO says their detectives received information that led to Fowler being the alleged shooter. Detectives also said they learned that Fowler knew the victims and had an argument before allegedly firing off multiple rounds.
Friday Night Violence
Friday night’s shooting follows another shooting at a high school football game earlier this year.
In September, two 18 year olds and two juveniles were arrested for a deadly shooting at a football game in Port Allen.
Ja’Kobe Queen, 15, was killed in the shooting. Brasia Davis, 28, was shot in the arm.
