BATON ROUGE — Officials are continuing to investigate a deadly, fiery crash that claimed the lives of two people Wednesday night near the LSU campus.
Baton Rouge Police have identified one of the victims as 23-year-old Bohdi Linton. The other victim has been identified as Dillon Reidenauer, an LSU freshman track and field student athlete.
The crash occurred just before 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the intersection of Nicholson Drive and South Quad Drive near LSU. Campus Police were notified of the incident, and Baton Rouge Police assisted with the response.
According to Baton Rouge Police, the driver of a Honda Accord, Reidenauer, was traveling south on Nicholson Drive when she attempted to make a left turn onto South Quad Drive. At that moment, Linton, who was driving a BMW motorcycle north on Nicholson, collided with the Accord.
Following the impact, the car burst into flames. Officials have confirmed that both drivers died at the scene.
LSU Track & Field Head Coach Dennis Shaver issued the following statement in part: “We are devastated by the tragic passing of Dillon Reidenauer, who was taken from us much too soon. Everyone in our LSU Track & Field family is keeping Dillon’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers, as well as those of the other individual lost in the incident.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
