Double shooting at apartment complex leaves one dead

BATON ROUGE — Two people were shot at while sitting in a vehicle at an apartment complex in Baton Rouge.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 on Dougherty Dr. at the Pine Square Apartments. That’s off of Howell Park near N. Foster Dr.

Sources tell UWK the two men were sitting in a vehicle when some people walked in through the apartment’s gate and started shooting at the vehicle.

The person in the driver’s seat died on the scene while the passenger was able to make it out after he was shot. He was rushed to a hospital, but his current condition is unknown at this time.

It’s unclear if any arrests have been made right now or what led up to the shooting.

The deceased’s name has not been released at this time.
