Double shooting in BR kills two more people

BATON ROUGE — In less than an hour’s timeframe, Baton Rouge Police responded to three homicides in two separate scenes.

The most recent happened around 4:20pm in the 1000 block of Townsley St. on Tuesday, June 27. Officers responded to it while on scene of another shooting on Woodpecker Ave. about a mile away.

Two people were shot on Townsley St. with Joseph Prohet, 48, having died on the scene. He was shot multiple times while inside a home. A woman, Robin Hayes, 52, was transported to a hospital but died of her injuries.

The double homicide comes less than an hour after a homicide about a mile away on Woodpecker Ave. where a person was shot and killed in a vehicle.

No further details have been provided on what led up to the shootings and killings.
