BATON ROUGE —- A portion of South River Rd. is closed at this time as officials respond to a double shooting.
It happened before 10:30pm on Sunday, May 7 between the U.S.S. Kidd and the River Center on River Rd. in Baton Rouge.
Early reports indicate a possible drive-by shooting with dozens of rounds fired. Shell casings are reported to be all over the roadway.

One person was shot and transported to a hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.
A second person was grazed by a bullet. It’s also unknown if the people shot were the intended targets of the shooting or bystanders injured by bullets
S. River Rd. is shut down at this time at North Blvd. and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
