BATON ROUGE — Drago’s Seafood Restaurant in Baton Rouge will be temporarily closing its doors later this month, the restaurant announced.
The Baton Rouge location will temporarily shut down in late January. The restaurant shared that it was bought out of its current lease along Constitution Avenue. That’s near College Drive at Interstate 10.
Drago’s is in the process of negotiating a new location for its Baton Rouge restaurant, but does not have a final landing place at this time.
Drago’s first opened in Baton Rouge in Feb. 2020, months ahead of the pandemic.
The original New Orleans restaurant opened in 1969. Drago and Klara Cvitanovich started the family legacy of oysters and fresh seafood. Now, their sons Tommy and Jerry Cvitanovich carry on the legacy.
The company also has restaurants in Lake Charles, Metairie and Jackson, Mississippi.
