PORT ALLEN — The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man with drugs and a stolen gun Thursday morning who turned out to be wanted by East Baton Rouge authorities for missing court and flouting his bond conditions.
A traffic complaint from someone driving on Interstate 10 led deputies to a casino on Lobdell Highway, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies arrested Dalvin Booker, 33, after they found packaged fentanyl and methamphetamine, a stolen gun and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said.
They also learned that he was a fugitive from East Baton Rouge Parish where he had been arrested on drug and gun charges after a pursuit.
In that case, he told police that he fled from them because someone had forced him to take unknown drugs and threatened to kill his mother if he didn’t do what the other person asked, police records show. He was released on bond with a requirement to comply with cell phone tracking. Court records show he had frequent violations of bond conditions and did not show up in court for a hearing in August. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Booker was booked into jail in West Baton Rouge Parish on possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a firearm with drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and as a fugitive from Baton Rouge.
