Two stranded duck hunters were rescued Tuesday by enforcement agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries during a historic winter snowstorm.
According to a LDWF news release, agents were alerted around 7 a.m. about the hunters stranded in Henderson Lake in St. Martin Parish.
LDWF Corporals Jason Marks and Michael Blanchard responded to the scene and located the hunters around 8:45 a.m. The pair were found in their boat at their hunting blind, unable to leave because their motor would not start.
The agents transported the hunters back to their truck and escorted them safely to the Lafayette area.
“Hunters are reminded to stay home, stay off the roads, and to not access any Wildlife Management Areas at this time due to the hazards presented by the winter storm,” a press release from LDFW states.
