Early morning shooting leaves one dead

BATON ROUGE — It was in the early morning hours on Thursday, April 20th when a shooting left one person dead.

It happened around 5:30am in the 2800 block of Dayton St. That’s off of Plank Rd.

It appears the person who lives on Dayton St. allowed a friend to come stay the night. That friend though showed up to the home with a rifle that he had on him all day.

The two got into an argument and there was a fight to get the rifle away from the friend.

In the process, the rifle fired off several shots killing the friend.

The man who lives on Dayton St. remained on scene waiting on police.

Names of the people involved have not been released at this time.
