Incumbent sheriff & clerk of court win East Baton Rouge Parish

BATON ROUGE — The man who has been leading the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for 16 years will now keep his job for four more years. Sid Gautreaux took in 86% of the votes while his opponent Jeffry LaMonte Sanford had 14%.

Also in East Baton Rouge Parish, voters opted to keep Doug Welborn as the clerk of court. He took on Donna Collins-Lewis. Welborn secured 57% of the votes with Lewis getting 43%.

Family Court judge in EBR is headed to a runoff between Caulette Jackson Guillard and Kyle Russ. Guillard had 38% while Russ had 26%. Coming in for a close third place was Laurie Marien with 24% of the votes.

Colette Greggs avoided a runoff for the 19th JDC District Judge with 53% of the votes.

The parish wide proposition for 3.13 mills renewal passed by 64% as did the the Shenandoah Estates Crime Prevention $75 parcel fee with 73% of the votes.
