Former EBRSO, LPSO deputy indicted in children’s rapes

LIVINGSTON PARISH — A Livingston Parish grand jury indicted a man Monday on a dozen child sex crimes, according to the attorney general’s office.

Nicholas LoCicero, 39, was charged with five counts of first-degree rape of a child under 13, one count of sexual battery of a child under 13, three counts of indecent behavior with juvenile and three counts of molestation of juveniles, a news release from the attorney general’s office said.

The grand jury spent about three minutes deliberating on the charges, officials said.

LoCicero was was fired from his job as a deputy at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office just before his October 2024 arrest on child sex crime charges. He had worked at the agency since June of 2022.

He previously worked for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, which fired him in March 2022 for poor work performance.

“Crimes against children are among the most serious offenses my office prosecutes. Anyone accused of preying on a child in Louisiana will be pursued aggressively by my office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one is above the law, especially those sworn to uphold it,” Attorney General Liz Murrill said.

The case involved two victims, the AG’s press release said.

At the time of LoCicero’s arrest, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the victims had identified LoCicero as their abuser in forensic interviews and were getting appropriate support in the aftermath.

Murrill’s office said LoCicero had been held without bond since his arrest. First-degree rape carries an automatic life sentence.
