East Feliciana Parish Coroner Dr. DeWitt Bickham submitted his resignation effective Dec. 30.
Bickham took office in March 2020. A special election will need to be held for the position.
According to the secretary of state’s office, the next available election is the fall 2023 gubernatorial election sccheduled for Oct. 14 2023 and Nov. 18 2023.
The qualifying dates are August 8-10, 2023.
