BLUFF CREEK — An early Wednesday morning crash on LA 63 claimed the life of a 62-year-old pedestrian, Louisiana State Police reports. Gregory Chenevert, of Clinton, died after he was hit in a two-vehicle crash on LA 63 near LA 37.
According to officials, around 5:30 a.m. on May 21st, Chenevert was standing in front of a stalled Chevrolet Silverado just past a sharp curve in the eastbound lane of LA 63. The Chevy truck did not have any hazard signals or lights on at the time.
At the same time, a 2015 Dodge Ram was going east on LA 63. The Ram hit the back of the Silverado, which then hit Chenevert, LSP reported.
Chenevert died at the scene. The driver of the Dodger Ram was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, but was uninjured.
Troopers say they do not suspect impairment, but toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.
