EAST FELICIANA PARISH — A big rig lost its load on Hwy. 19 in East Feliciana Parish Tuesday morning, shutting down a portion of the roadway.
Homeland Security is also on the scene due to a diesel fuel leak. The crash happened Tuesday morning, Jan. 13th on Hwy. 19 between Hwy. 963 and Hwy. 10.
The big rig was carrying steel and spilled its load of steel beams that are now scattered on Hwy. 19, which is why the roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours. The crash left the 18-wheeler on its side and the big rig is leaking diesel fuel. That’s why Homeland Security is on scene as they respond anytime there is a chemical spill.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
