CENTRAL — An elected official has been issued a misdemeanor summons for a hit and run that was caught on video.
Central Police issued Gordon Hutchinson a summons for hit and run in connection to an incident that happened Tuesday, April 14th around 11 p.m. at the Walmart in Central. Hutchinson is the Constable for Ward 3 in East Baton Rouge and covers Central as well.
Investigators say Hutchinson hit a parked vehicle while attempting to leave the store but then failed to report it.
Hutchinson was caught on Walmart’s surveillance hitting a vehicle, then getting out of his own vehicle to check the other car, taking a picture and leaving the scene, Central Police said.
It is standard procedure to be issued a misdemeanor summons for what Hutchinson is accused of doing.
Hutchinson turned himself into Central PD shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th after Central PD requested help in identifying him.
