BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested one of their own on Sunday. It comes after an alleged fight at the prison.
Officials say Aaron Johnson, 26, was arrested Sunday evening following a scuffle involving an inmate and another deputy. Johnson responded to the fight but officials say, Johnson allegedly beat the inmate causing “multiple fractures” to his face. Officials say Johnson hit the inmate with a metal chair injuring the inmate.
The inmate was transported to a hospital for treatment and EBRSO launched an investigation into the deputy immediately.

The incident took place shortly before Noon on Sunday, March 26th at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Johnson is charged with malfeasance in office and aggravated second-degree battery and was terminated effective immediately.
Johnson started at EBRSO as a prison deputy in April 2022.
