BATON ROUGE — Four people were arrested after East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit, led by the EBRSO SCAT, searched multiple apartments believed to be locations of a drug operation. During the bust, officials say they seized multiple types of drugs, including nearly 600 lethal doses of fentanyl powder.
All four men have previous convictions.
During June, narcotics agents investigated accused drug distributers and conducted surveillance on multiple locations, including the apartments of two of the people arrested.
On July 1st, agents executed search warrants on three apartments at 956 N. Donmoor Ave. along with an apartment unit at 16141 Bristoe Ave. They seized the following:

- 2.09 Ounces of Powder Fentanyl (593 Lethal Doses)
- 17.5 Grams of Crack Cocaine
- 10.4 Grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
- 3.8 Grams of Cocaine
- 1.04 Pounds of Marijuana
- 17 Dosage Units of Alprazolam Prescription Pill
- 12 Dosage Units of Buprenorphine Patches
- 7 Dosage Units of Amphetamine Prescription Pills
- 1 bottle of Promethazine Prescription Syrup
- Blender (with fentanyl residue)
- Pyrex measuring cup (with cocaine residue)
- 3 ?digital scales
- Plastic bags
- $1,635.00 U.S. currency

John Butler has been convicted of possession of marijuana and aggravated assault with a firearm on a peace officer. Butler was on probation for the aggravated assault conviction until Feb. 18, 2017. This conviction prohibits Butler from possessing a firearm.
Butler was currently on federal probation for a conviction of felon in possession of a firearm.
Kiera Sheppard (07/08/1989)

Sheppard was convicted with PWTID schedule I September 2016; of PWTID heroin in October 2018; of illegal carry of a weapon in November 2018. Sheppard’s probation for the drug charges ended on Sept. 25, 2020, which prohibits Sheppard from possessing a firearm.
Jerome Palmer (05/06/1985)?

Palmer has been convicted of possession of heroin and aggravated obstruction of a highway on Aug. 16, 2023. Palmer is on probation for the drug offense until Aug. 16, 2026, which prohibits him from possessing a firearm.

Allen has been convicted of attempted possession of cocaine in April 1998; of felony theft and criminal damage to property in 2007; of theft of a motor vehicle in May 2010; of illegal use of a weapon on Oct. 17, 2011; and of armed robbery on Aug. 5, 2013.
Allen was released from probation on the theft of a motor vehicle on Feb. 22, 2025.
