EBRSO investigating shooting in Central

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is now being told the shooting involved two people inside a home playing with a gun when it went off.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened around 3pm at a home in the 10,000 block of E. Brookside Dr.

Officials said two teens were playing with a gun when it went off shooting one of them in the leg. It’s unclear right now if the shooting was self-inflicted or if one of the teens shot the other teen while playing with the gun.

Initially, deputies were told it was a drive-by shooting in front of Central High School but the victim has since changed his story according to officials.

Central PD officers did catch a teenager who fled to a scene nearby canal, perhaps out of fear. It’s unclear at this time if anyone will be arrested or if anyone will face charges.
