Eighth suspect arrested in Sept. casino robbery

The eighth suspect accused of robbing Cane Row Casino in September was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Thursday.

Norman Daniel Escalate-Guidel, 18, of Terrytown was arrested in Jefferson Parish in October on a weapons charge related to the casino armed robbery investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

Escalate-Guidel is accused of demanding cash from the truck stop casino in Belle Rose with seven others on Sept. 29.

He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of armed robbery – use of a firearm and a detainer from the Department of Homeland Security.
