Gonzales woman dies in early morning house fire

GONZALES — A 74-year-old woman died after a mobile home fire in Gonzales early Friday morning, the state fire marshal confirms.

State fire marshal deputies are investigating the cause of the fire. They say they are “unable to rule out the possibility of unattended cooking as a potential cause.”

Gonzales firefighters got the cause about a fire at the Family Court Trailer Park just before 5 a.m. Friday. Neighbors reportedly called 9-1-1 when they saw the flames.

The body of Glenda Brown was found in the kitchen, investigators said.

The state fire marshal’s office says the investigation is active and ongoing.
