Empty home on Old Hammond Hwy. goes up in flames

The Baton Rouge Fire Dept. is asking for the public’s help with any information on a vacant house fire.

The single-family home at 11810 Old Hammond Hwy. was set on fire around 1:40pm on Saturday, Oct. 15th.

Firefighters had it under control within nearly 20 minutes.

Officials believe arson is the official cause of the fire. After fire investigators searched the property, they ruled the blaze was intentionally set.

Anyone with information on the arson is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
