BATON ROUGE — Widespread technical issues are currently plaguing Meta’s platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Threads, leaving thousands unable to access their accounts.
Facebook users face difficulties logging in, while Instagram users are unable to refresh their feeds. According to The Verge, Instagram users can refresh their feeds, but stories and comments fail to load.
“We are aware of an issue users are having logging into our platforms,” Meta said on their website. “Our engineering teams are aware and are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
Downdetector notes a surge in error reports starting just after 9:30 a.m. CST on Tuesday, with millions of outages reported. The cause of the outage remains unclear, and there is no estimated time for the social sites to be back online.
Outages are being reported in multiple countries.
