DENHAM SPRINGS —- A crash on Saturday morning shut down Interstate 12 and left a Port Allen man dead.
It was around 7:30 a.m. when the crash happened on I-12 westbound near the Amite River Bridge just past the Denham Springs Range exit (10).
Denham Springs PD says Robert Harrison, 76 of Port Allen, was ejected out of his vehicle and died on the scene. Another person in the vehicle was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
A blowout is what officers say led up to the single-vehicle crash.
