LAFAYETTE PARISH —- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have now taken over the investigation into a small plane crash that happened Tuesday.
The plane crashed near Gloria Switch Rd. and Hwy. 93 in Lafayette Parish around 11 a.m. on Oct. 21st, officials said.
Three people died in the plane crash, the pilot and two passengers. They have been identified as Lydia Laws, 54, of Spring, TX; Bruce Verduyn, 58, and Justin Ramsey, 42, both of The Woodlands in Texas.
The plane is reported to be a Beechcraft Baron having left Houston, TX around 9:50 a.m. from Hooks Memorial Airport. It’s unclear where the plane was headed but the flight path ends near Cankton.
No further details have been released at this time.
