HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested five people in an alleged drug operation where green fentanyl and Mojo were discovered in a home with young children.
Last month, TPSO Narcotics detectives began investigating suspicious activity at two mobile homes on Hood Road in Hammond. This week, detectives, along with Hammond Police officers and members of the Parish County Line Task Force used a search warrant and found green fentanyl, more than a half-pound of suspected marijuana as well as scales and packaging materials, synthetic cannabinoid or “Mojo,” and opioid pills.
The team also says they found fake license plates and inspection stickers hidden under a child’s bed. In addition, five children between the ages of one and 13 were in the home where the drugs were accessible.
The following people were arrested.
Marcellus Washington, 31, was booked on five counts of illegal use/possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of minors, two counts of possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule IV narcotics, and possession of counterfeit temporary registration & inspection documents.
Vedal McClendon, 52, was booked on five counts of illegal use/possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of minors, two counts of possession with Intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics, and one count each of possession with intent to distribute schedule 2 narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule IV narcotics.
Miranda James, 50, was booked on five counts of illegal use/possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of minors, two counts of possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule IV narcotics.
Tiara Wilson, 27, was booked on five counts of illegal use/possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of minors, and one count each of possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate.
Anthony Conley, 48, was booked on one count of possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
