Between 9:30pm on Wednesday, Sept. 21st and 3am on Thursday, Sept. 22nd, there were five shootings in Baton Rouge.
One person was killed after an apartment door was kicked in and he was shot.
It happened around 11:30 pm at the Alight Apartments at 650 W. McKinley St.
As of now, sources say the shooting appears to be domestic with the ex-boyfriend of the current resident having kicked in the door and shot & killed a man who was at the apartment. Some of the bullets did go into a neighboring apartment. The shooter fled the scene.
Earlier in the night, around 9:30 pm in the 3400 block of N. Foster Dr., a home took multiple rounds. Two people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but thankfully, neither were injured.
Then into the early morning hours of Sept. 22nd, just after 2 am at the Azalea Park Apartments, nearly three dozen rounds were fired hitting three apartment complexes. One person had minor injuries. The shooter fled in this case as well.
The latest shooting happened around 3 am on Voss Dr. A home was shot at multiple times. No one inside was hurt.
This shooting appears to be an intended victim because as officers were on the scene, a home about a mile away was also shot at. That home belongs to someone in the same family on Underwood Ave. Again, no one was injured.
Anyone with information on any of these shootings is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
