Florida man indicted on a rape charge involving a juvenile in St. James Parish

A grand jury indicted Randy Nicholas, 56, on first-degree rape and other charges on Aug. 10.

The indictment stems from a sexual assault investigation that began in 2021, according to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

St. James Parish Sheriff’s detectives were notified by an out-of-state law enforcement agency that there was a juvenile sexual assault victim in St. James Parish.

Detectives learned that Nicholas allegedly sexually assaulted the juvenile victim for several years. Nicholas was arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.

Nicholas is being held without bond. He was also indicted on aggravated crimes against nature and oral sexual battery charges.
