APSO detectives started investigating Delaune after someone reported in February 2024 that he allegedly was involved in lewd acts with a juvenile. The victim told officials that Delaune had allegedly inappropriately touched her over a period of several years since the little girl was five.

District Attorney Ricky Babin took the case before an Ascension Parish Grand Jury on May 20. After an indictment from the grand jury, a warrant was drawn up for his arrest. He has since been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Delaune is a former Ascension Parish Correctional Officer. Sheriff Bobby Webre said he was terminated in Oct. 2022 from APSO after an unrelated case. It was over a year later the allegations of inappropriately touching a juvenile came to light.

During his time at the sheriff’s office, a female deputy made a complaint about him, allegedly involving an inappropriate relationship. Sheriff Webre said he was demoted due to that investigation.

His bond has been set at $300,000. Records show he has already posted bond.
