BRUSLY — Dennis “Clint” Kennamer Jr., a former volunteer soccer coach at the Christian Academy of Louisiana in West Baton Rouge Parish, has been sentenced to 20 years for molestation of a juvenile, with 10 years suspended, and an additional 10 years for possessing child pornography, among other charges.
Kennamer has been arrested three times since June 2024, most recently for domestic violence.
His legal troubles began in June when he was arrested for having sex with a teenage girl. According to an arrest warrant obtained by UWK, Kennamer was accused of “persuading & coercing” a Christian Academy student over multiple occasions.
In August, Kennamer was arrested again, accused of 15 counts of pornography involving juveniles. Officers were able to track naked photos of a juvenile to an email address that came back to Kennamer, according to police.
- Molestation of a juvenile (1 count) — 20 years, suspended 10 years
- Pornography involving juveniles (3 counts) — 10 years on each count, concurrent
- Computer-aided solicitation of a minor (1 count) — 10 years
- Felony carnal knowledge (2 counts) — 10 years on each count, concurrent
All of those charges will run concurrently, and many do not allow for parole or a suspended sentence. As a result, Kennamer will likely serve a maximum of 10 years in prison. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will remain on probation.
After Kennamer was arrested in November, Christian Academy of Louisiana said they were aware of the charges and were cooperating with police.
We have been made aware of the arrest of a suspect who was a former volunteer coach at Christian Academy of Louisiana.
All employees are required to undergo and pass a state-required background check prior to working at CAL.
In this particular instance, when allegations were brought to the attention of the school, an immediate investigation was conducted, and the volunteer coach was banned from campus and contact with students.
Additionally, law enforcement was contacted immediately, and school administration provided full cooperation in their investigation.
Children should never be subjected to sexual assault and we are deeply troubled that someone would attempt such horrific things with our students.
