BATON ROUGE — The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a former EBR school employee accused of indecent behavior with a student.
According to EBRSO, Justin Broussard, 28, is wanted on one count of indecent behavior with juveniles, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and obstruction of justice.
Officials say Broussard may be in the Lake Charles or Lafayette areas.
Officials say EBRSO was contacted in August in regards to Broussard, who was an employee at Belaire High School, allegedly being involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
According to the arrest affidavit, detectives with EBRSO met with school officials who stated Broussard and the 16-year-old student were allegedly having an inappropriate text message conversation.
Another student saw the messages on Instagram and alerted school officials.
According to arrest documents, detectives contacted the student who reported the conversation and learned of the inappropriate text when she allowed the victim to log into his Instagram account on her phone.
When she realized he had not logged out of his account, she took screenshots to show school officials. Documents say Broussard transferred to the same school as the victim in August.
Officials said detectives interviewed the victim and his parents regarding the conversation and learned the victim and Broussard developed a close friendship at his previous middle school.
The victim told detectives that the student reported his and Broussard’s Instagram accounts.
The documents say the victim told detectives Broussard asked him to send photos before the victim sent an inappropriate video.
School officials asked the victim to provide a statement about the incident. According to the victim, Broussard instructed him to give a false written statement to the school so he wouldn’t get in trouble.
The school terminated Broussard on Aug. 30.
