LORANGER — A former Tangipahoa Parish teacher was arrested Tuesday after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student and having a baby from the alleged relationship.
Authorities say Morgan Freche, 33, of Loranger, turned herself into detectives after several warrants were issued for her arrest. Allegations of misconduct date back approximately two years.
Freche was charged with one count third-degree rape, four counts felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and one count oral sexual battery.
She is accused of having a baby with a 17-yr-old student at her school. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports they received the complaint on Sept. 24, 2023, at which time they opened a formal investigation.
A school system representative confirmed the teacher resigned from the school amid the investigation and prior to being arrested.
TPSO officials say that due to the investigation remaining open and ongoing, no further information will be released.
