BATON ROUGE — Four men received a true bill of indictment for second-degree murder in the Christmas day shooting of a man in Central. The shooting happened before 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2025 at an apartment complex near Morgan and Empress Roads, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
On April 22, a Grand Jury indicted Jacolby Gordon, Trevion Green, Derick Johnson, and Dorien Johnson on second-degree murder. They are accused in the death of Tyler Sensley, who was shot multiple times.
Another man, Devin Gordon, was indicted on a charge of accessory after the fact, for allegedly harboring Jacolby Gordon after the crime occurred.
All of the men are currently incarcerated, per the District Attorney’s Office.

Four men were arrested in connection with a Christmas day shooting in Central after the victim died of his injuries. The victim was walking to get a Christmas present when he was gunned down in the parking lot of an apartment complex, with sources telling UWK the suspects were allegedly waiting in the vehicle for hours on the man who died.
It was around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2025, when East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies responded to Morgan and Empress Roads in Central, off of Greenwell Springs Rd., for a drive-by shooting.
At the scene, deputies found a man, Tyler Sensley, shot multiple times, including a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Detectives discovered numerous shell casings in the parking lot during their investigation. In addition, they obtained video surveillance that showed a dark gray car circling the same parking lot since around 4 a.m. The same car can also be seen parked in the lot until the victim (Sensley) walked out.
According to the arrest warrants, when Sensley walked past the gray car close to 8:20 a.m., “three unknown suspects get out of the sedan, produced firearms, and begin shooting at the victim.” Sensley attempts to run away, but ultimately fell down from being struck multiple times, the warrant says.
After Sensley was on the ground, the men then got back into the vehicle and allegedly fled the scene. The shooting took place in about one minute, court records reveal.
According to the warrants, the homicide was caught on multiple cameras, all of which showed the gray car arrive and park. In addition, officials say that once the gray car parks, it remained on scene and no one got out of the vehicle for four hours, which is when the shooting occurred.
In an interview with detectives, a family member said that Sensley was walking to a nearby apartment at the complex to “retrieve a Christmas present” when he was shot.
Sensley was in critical condition immediately following the shooting, but he ultimately died of his injuries on Dec. 30, 2025, officials report. An autopsy performed the next day concluded that he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
The shooting investigation
While three people were seen shooting at Sensley, court records also state detectives believed a fourth person was in the driver’s seat of the car, even though they did not get out during the shooting incident.
After reviewing more video footage, EBRSO detectives determined that the vehicle allegedly involved in the shooting was a 2024-2025 Toyota Camry with black trim around the windows, dark tint and black rims. Toyota only offers three trim packages matching this description, detectives learned.
In addition, through interviews, detectives learned that the alleged shooters could be part of the street gang known as “448,” which operates in northern East Baton Rouge Parish and has been reportedly linked to violent crimes in the parish and surrounding areas, per EBRSO.
On Dec. 27, 2025, detectives learned that a “known member of the criminal street gang “448”” was involved in an unrelated incident at an apartment complex on Joor Road. The apartment complex has a license plate reader, so EBRSO detectives searched the reader for all dark gray Toyota Camrys in the area from Dec. 3, 2025 until Jan. 3, 2026.
The reader pulled up one match of the type of car allegedly involved in Sensley’s shooting. Using the information on that car, detectives discovered that it had a black cover over the temporary tag on Dec. 6, 2025 until Dec. 25. In addition, they discovered that on Dec. 25, the car was seen heading west on Hwy. 66 in East Feliciana Parish at 9:18 a.m. The black cover was missing at that time.
Detectives then searched how long it would take to drive to the location on Hwy. 66 where the car was spotted at 9:18 on Dec. 25 if it left the Morgan Road, Greenwell Springs address. They discovered that the trip would take approximately 56 minutes, meaning it was possible that the Camry could have been at the scene of the murder, per court records.
On Jan. 6, detectives reached out to the registered owner of the Camry, who advised that Dorien Johnson was the primary driver of the car. She told detectives that she did not know where he or the car was on Christmas day, according to the warrant.
The next day, detectives reviewed footage from Dec. 6, 2025, at the Joor Road apartment complex. According to the probable cause information, the known vehicle operator (Dorien Johnson) was seen getting out of the car and entering a building. He was later seen walking in the parking lot with a “known associate of the criminal street gang “448,”” per the document.
The detectives requested a search warrant for information such as location services related to the Camry. On Jan. 8, the detectives received the files and noted that the Camry allegedly had GPS pings putting it at the location and time of the shooting on Dec. 25, 2025. In addition, detectives received records showing that the phone number associated with Dorien Johnson was “actively being used during the time of the shooting” and that its location pings lined up with the path of the vehicle that morning.
On Jan. 12, Dorien Johnson turned himself into officials. During his interview, Dorien Johnson allegedly admitted to driving a man known as “Lil Bill” (identified as Derick Johnson Jr.) along with two others to the shooting. In addition, he allegedly said that he witnessed the three men get out and shoot Sensley.
Dorien Johnson is charged with second-degree murder. According to his arrest warrant, he identified Jacolby Gordon, Derick Johnson Jr. and Trevion Green as the shooters in the alleged murder.
Officials arrested Derick Johnson Jr. on Jan. 13. He is charged with second-degree murder. Derick Johnson is a confirmed member of the 448 Gang, per EBRSO.
Derick Johnson was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. These items were allegedly discovered in the apartment where he was arrested.
Trevion Green was arrested on Jan. 15 on a charge of second-degree murder. According to EBRSO, Green is an unconfirmed member of 448.
Officials arrested Jacolby Gordon on Jan. 16. He is charged with second-degree murder. He is also a relative of Dorien Johnson, per the probable cause document.
