Balloon release planned for 4-year-old drowning victim

WATSON — A balloon release is planned for Wednesday to honor a 4-year-old boy who drowned in Watson last week.

Justin Dendy drowned October 26 at a home on Meadow Lane in Watson. This is off Hwy. 16 north of Fore Rd. LPSO says Dendy, who has autism, wandered off and fell into a neighbor’s pool. He was transported to the hospital, but he did not survive.

“No foul play is suspected at this time. Simply, a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with this family,” said LPSO.

The balloon release is set for November 1 at 10 a.m. at the Live Oak Sports Complex on Hwy. 16. Justin’s family says he loved balloons of all colors.

The family is asking anyone that’s lost a child to bring balloons to release along with the ones to honor Justin.
