LIVINGSTON — Several local parishes are announcing sand bag locations in anticipation of heavy rain and potential flooding from Tropical Storm Francine.

Tropical Storm Francine has officially formed in the Gulf of Mexico Monday morning, with Louisiana directly in the path of a potential hurricane by Thursday.

Most of the state, including the Baton Rouge area, is under a moderate risk for excessive rainfall from the tropical storm. Parts of the Baton Rouge area could receive between 6 to 8 inches of rain over the next five days.

Ascension Parish

The city of Gonzales is currently preparing sandbags for residents at the City Barn on Darla Ave. The city will notify residents via their Facebook page when the sandbags are ready for pickup.
