NEW ROADS — Pointe Coupee Parish officials have partnered with Hope Ministry and the Baton Rouge Area Foundation to provide funds to parish residents whose homes flooded in heavy rains when Tropical Storm Arthur struck in June.
The “One Pointe Coupee Fund” will provide immediate assistance to help residents “begin restoring their homes and rebuilding their lives,” a parish government social media post said.
People who want to donate to the fund can go to this website or use the QR code in the social post.
Checks can also be made payable to Baton Rouge Area Foundation and sent to 451 Florida St., Suite LL 100, Baton Rouge, LA 70801. “One Pointe Coupee” should be written in the memo line of the check.
The fund is a partnership of Pointe Coupee Parish government, Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux, District Attorney Tony Clayton, State Rep. Jeremy LaCombe, State Sen. Caleb Kleinpeter and H.O.P.E. Ministry of Pointe Coupee.
Baton Rouge Area Foundation is managing the contributions, 100 percent of which will be used to support residents affected by the flood.
