GEISMAR — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in a fatal shooting on Kerry Road, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Marquell Green was booked into Ascension Parish jail Friday on second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Green is accused of killing Shandolan Carey, 48, on Kerry Road. Deputies found Carey with multiple gunshot wounds about 3 p.m. on June 20. She died at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to learn what led up to the shooting, the sheriff’s office said, but confirmed that Green and Carey did know each other.
