APSO: Geismar man arrested for attempted murder in domestic violence incident

GEISMAR, La. – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Geismar man wanted for attempted second-degree murder and other charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.

APSO announced late Thursday evening, that Reggie Holland had been found and arrested. He was also wanted for aggravated second-degree battery, false imprisonment, and second-degree sexual battery.

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident at a home along Hwy 73 in Geismar on Thursday, Feb. 8 at approximately 7:55 a.m.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Holland had allegedly battered a female subject. The victim was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries.

Law enforcement considered Holland armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Holland’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office anonymously at (225) 621-4636 or text 847411 to the anonymous tip line from any mobile device or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
