Gonzales: 19-year-old arrested in connection to drive-by shooting that injured one

GONZALES — Gonzales Police officers arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a drive-by shooting on S. Burnside that left one person injured.

On Tuesday, May 26, Gonzales Police officers responded to the 1500 block of South Burnside Avenue in response to a shooting where one person was shot. In their investigation, detectives identified a suspect, 19-year-old Keelan Irvin Jr., and the vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting.

On June 1, Gonzales PD detectives, along with assistance from other agencies, took Irvin into custody. He faces the following charges:

Attempted first-degree murder
Assault by drive-by shooting
