Gonzales PD needs assistance after Darrow man killed in drive-by shooting

GONZALES — The Gonzales Police Dept. is hoping someone from the public can help piece together exactly what happened that led to a Darrow man’s death.

It was around 11:00 p.m. on December 8, 2023, on Burnside Ave., or Hwy. 44, when Gonzales Police responded to a call for shots fired.

Craig Haynes, Jr., of Darrow, and his vehicle were hit by gunfire while driving northbound on Hwy. 44 in the area between Hwy. 30 and Worthy Rd.

Haynes was transported to an area hospital and died from his injuries the following day on Dec. 9.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help with any information pertaining to the incident, identity, or whereabouts of the suspect or suspect’s vehicles.
