Greensburg man killed in St. Helena Parish crash

KENTWOOD — An 80-year-old man from Greensburg died after a single-vehicle crash in St. Helena Parish.

It was June 25, shortly before 12:30 p.m. when Louisiana State Police troopers responded to a crash on Hwy. 38 near Hwy 441 in St. Helena Parish.

Billy Hebert, 80, of Greensburg, died in the crash.

The investigation so far reveals the crash happened when Hebert was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado west on Hwy 38. For reasons still under investigation, Hebert went off the roadway and hit a tree.

Troopers say Hebert was not properly buckled and died on the scene from the crash. As part of the ongoing investigation, a routine toxicology sample was obtained from Hebert for analysis.
