Hammond: Detectives request help identifying burglary suspects

HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in finding and identifying multiple people accused of breaking into vehicles in a Hammond neighborhood.

According to officials, in the overnight hours of Sunday, April 26 and Monday, April 27, several people went throughout the Covington Ridge Drive neighborhood, pulling on vehicle door handles and allegedly stealing items from unlocked vehicles.

Video surveillance from multiple locations in the neighborhood show multiple suspects traveling in a light-colored, four-door sedan. In the video, the individuals would pull on a door handle to see if it was unlocked. In multiple instances, the alleged suspects begin running away when lights at the homes turn on.

TPSO detectives are asking Covington Ridge Road residents to check their vehicles for any missing items and file a report if anything is discovered stolen. In addition, detectives are asking anyone with additional video footage in the area to share those videos.

Anyone with information about the suspects and/or where they may be, can contact TPSO’s Criminal Investigations Division at 985-902-2088.
