LIVINGSTON — A 61-year-old Hammond man is awaiting to find out how many years he was spend behind bars after he was convicted of seven counts of possession of child pornography – under the age of 13.
In 2024, the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations (LBI) received a cyber tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that files of sexual abuse materials of children were uploaded to a DropBox account from an IP address in Tangipahoa Parish.
Through an investigation, detectives tracked down the home address and information who the IP address belonged to, identifying him as David Hollingsworth of Hammond. Further digital forensics revealed additional contraband and other identifying information that tied Hollingsworth to the sexual abuse material files.
LBI agents arrested Hollingsworth and he was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on March 14, 2024.
Hollingsworth was found guilty of seven counts of possession during trial on Tuesday, March 31.
“I want to thank the LBI for their relentless efforts in fighting these predators. These are not victimless crimes, but are real children being exploited and abused. Those who choose to be in the market for this have no place in our free society. I’m proud to remove another predator from our community,” said Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio.
Hollingsworth is scheduled to be sentenced later in April.
