LIVONIA — Multiple agencies participated in a manhunt in Livonia on Friday following a traffic stop on Hwy. 190 at Hwy. 77.
It started around 4:25 p.m. Friday when a deputy and Livonia Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a truck on Hwy. 190.
According to Livonia Police Chief Landon Landry, all four individuals from the vehicle fled the scene. Three people were caught immediately. The fourth person ran into the woods triggering a manhunt.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved, including drones & K9’s. They searched south of 190 in Livonia going toward Maringouin and Valverda. The Union Pacific Railyard was also included in the search area, Landry said.
As for the first three arrested, Pointe Coupee Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux said they were taken into custody for active immigration warrants. It’s unclear if the fourth person also had an immigration warrant or not.
