BATON ROUGE —-City police officers are requesting the public’s help with any information into a hit & run that left a man dead.
It was July 11, 2026 around 1:20 a.m. when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the 4800 block of Scenic Highway.
Investigators say a 35-year-old man had stopped his Honda Accord in the right northbound lane due to a flat tire. While standing outside his vehicle, officers say a dark-colored SUV hit and killed him. The driver fled the scene without stopping or helping the man. His identity has not been released at this time.
BRPD acknowledges the photographs are not the best quality, but investigators believe someone may recognize the SUV shown before and after the crash. There was damage to the SUV from the impact.
