Holden man dies in single-vehicle crash

Louisiana State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a Holden man on Nov. 8.

The crash reportedly occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on LA 19 south of LA 10 in East Feliciana Parish. Troopers identified Brandon Martin, 36, as the victim.

According to state police, Martin was driving South on LA 19 and for reasons still being investigated, he tried to pass a vehicle, ran off the road and hit a driveway embankment. The sedan Martin was driving went airborne and hit a utility pole.

Martin died at the scene. he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Authorities say impairment isn’t suspected but routine toxicology samples were taken and results are pending.
