Coroner identifies woman found in Baton Rouge canal

BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) is investigating after a body was found in a canal on March 29.

According to BRPD, officers were called around 11 a.m. Sunday regarding a body in a canal in the 9100 block of Tom Drive. Officers found a female victim face down in the water.

Homicide detectives are now handling the investigation. The coroner identified the woman as 30-year-old Keaira Hatton. Her autopsy results are pending.
