Homicide in apartment complex garage under investigation

BATON ROUGE —- The Baton Rouge Police Dept. is investigating the city’s latest homicide.

It happened around 11pm in a parking garage of an apartment complex on May 18.

The address of the shooting was 3135 Highland Rd., which is the Sterling Apartment near Aster St.

Early reports indicate a man was shot in the head and died from their injuries. It’s unclear what led up the shooting that’s said to have happened on the second floor of the garage.

The deceased has been identified as Davanta Matthews, 28.
