I-10 now open after it was shut down for hours

State Police report at least two serious injuries. I-10 has now re-opened in both directions after it was shut down for several hours due to a serious crash.

I-10 at Whiskey Bay (mile marker 126) in Iberville Parish is now back open after a serious crash Sunday morning.

Officials say the 18-wheeler driver went in the wrong lane and ran over some cones. The DOTD vehicle ended up hitting the Iberville Sheriff’s unit and the vehicle on the wreck flew over the wrecker. At least two people are seriously injured.

Due to the severity of the crashes, both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed.

During the wreck, a young man in the military was headed to where he’s stationed at with his car also in the vehicle. As of now, the young man’s family says he is okay.

But Fenny, his dog, is missing. His family is asking for anyone on I-10 near Whiskey Bay to keep an eye out for Fenny and if you find him, please call 830-481-8507.
