ST. GABRIEL — Officers are requesting the public’s help with any information on a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 66-year-old from St. Gabriel.
It was on Nov. 30 around 7:30 p.m. when St. Gabriel Police officers responded to Martin Luther King Parkway near Ointment Road for a single-vehicle crash. They found the vehicle in a canal.
One person was inside the vehicle. He has been identified as Wardell Valentine, 66, of St. Gabriel. Valentine had critical injuries and did not survive.
At this time, St. Gabriel PD is still investigating the cause of the crash, which is why they’re asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact their office. UWK has learned Wardell Valentine did go off the roadway in his vehicle in St. Gabriel, which is why his car was found in a canal.
